The Austin Virtual Cyber Summit is committed to providing a harassment-free experience for all participants, regardless of background, identity, or experience level. This Code of Conduct applies to all event spaces including Zoom sessions, chat, networking breakouts, and any communication connected to the event.

- Focus on technical content and community learning — this is not a sales or marketing forum.
- Be welcoming to participants of all experience levels, including first-time speakers and newcomers to security.
- Use the chat and Q&A constructively. Ask questions in good faith.
- Respect others' time — keep questions concise and on-topic during Q&A.
- Keep your microphone muted when not speaking.
The following will not be tolerated and may result in immediate removal from the event without notice:
- Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination of any kind toward any participant.
- Offensive, derogatory, or inappropriate comments in chat, Q&A, or breakout rooms.
- Sharing another participant's personal information without their explicit consent.
- Disrupting talks, networking sessions, or other event activities.
- Vendor pitches, unsolicited sales outreach, or commercial promotion of any kind.
- Recording any participant without their knowledge or consent.
- Any behavior that would make other participants feel unsafe or unwelcome.
All speakers are responsible for ensuring their content is appropriate for a public audience and complies with applicable laws, their employer's policies, and any NDAs or confidentiality obligations. Presenting unpublished vulnerability research, uncoordinated disclosures, confidential data, or any legally sensitive content is strictly prohibited. Austin Virtual Cyber Summit and its organizer assume no liability for speaker content.
The organizer reserves the right to remove any participant or speaker from the event at any time for any violation of this Code of Conduct, without obligation to provide a refund (not applicable as the event is free) or explanation.
This Code of Conduct applies to all participants — attendees, speakers, and the organizer — for the duration of the event and in any related communications. By registering or submitting to speak, you agree to abide by these standards.
