Austin Virtual Cyber Summit is a free, community-run virtual event. This privacy policy explains what information is collected in connection with the event, how it is used, and how it is protected. The event is organized by a private individual and is not affiliated with any company or commercial entity.
We collect information only through third-party platforms used to operate the event:
- Eventbrite — When you register, Eventbrite collects your name and email address. We receive this information to manage event attendance and send logistical communications (e.g. the Zoom link).
- Google Forms — If you submit a speaker application, Google Forms collects the information you provide in the form, including your name, email, role, and talk details.
- Zoom — The event runs on Zoom. Zoom may collect usage data in accordance with their own privacy policy. We do not control Zoom's data practices.
Information collected is used solely to operate the event. Specifically:
- To send you the Zoom link and event communications if you register.
- To review and respond to speaker applications.
- To share confirmed speakers' names, titles, and talk descriptions publicly for event promotion — but only with explicit permission granted through the speaker application agreement.
We do not sell, rent, or share your information with any third party for marketing or commercial purposes.
This event uses Eventbrite, Google Forms, and Zoom to operate. Each platform has its own privacy policy and data practices that are independent of this event. We encourage you to review their policies:
Attendee and speaker information collected for this event will not be retained beyond what is necessary to operate the event. We do not maintain a mailing list or CRM. Event-related data stored by Eventbrite or Google is subject to their respective retention policies.
If any portion of the event is recorded, attendees and speakers will be notified in advance. Attendees who do not wish to be recorded are encouraged to keep their cameras off and avoid speaking in recorded sessions. Speaker consent to recording is addressed separately in the speaker agreement.
